About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops.
This bent Dublin is a fetching take on the classic form, with plenty of implied movement and a thoroughly Italian, bowl-centric composition. The bowl's fore swells out with a flourish, continuing the sweeping trajectory of the sinuous shank-and-stem arrangement. The stummel wears a crisp, craggy sandblast and an earthy stain, both of which accentuate the briar's dense waves of rippling ring grain. Replete with stimulating texture and with a palm-filling bowl, this offering is sure to offer a satisfying smoke and a satisfying in-hand presence.
