About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops.
This bent Billiard is a more reserved, streamlined take on the classic shape compared to most of Cavicchi's other offerings, yet it still displays the bold, bowl-centric shaping of the Italian neoclassical style. Cylindrical walls frame the bowl, rising from a taut, muscular heel to a crisp, flat rim. Out back, a 90-degree transition introduces a lengthy, cylindrical shank, which is joined by a demurely bent saddle stem. The arrow-straight posture of the shank keeps things sleek in profile, and given its length, it offers ample room to comfortably drape a digit. Dressed in Cavicchi's signature Brown sandblast, this offering showcases a wealth of handsome grain and exudes rustic charm.
