About This Pipe
Italian artisan Claudio Cavicchi boasts over 50 years of pipe-making experience and possesses an uncanny talent for bringing out the very best from a block of briar. His portfolio is full of evocative interpretations of classic shapes, and he is known by many artisans to have some of the best grain in the world, with even his non-graded pipes rivaling the top-tier pieces of other workshops.
The bowl of this Tomato is well-suited for cradling in the hand, its plump curves conforming to the contours of the palm nicely. Said bowl crouches at the fore of a sinuously bent shank-and-stem arrangement whose flowing curvature lends the piece a graceful, elegant silhouette and promotes a relaxed smoking posture. The stummel showcases a wealth of handsome grain, which is rendered in vivid tactile detail thanks to Cavicchi's earthy Brown sandblast.
