Chestnut Quaint Bent Dublin (4) (2025) Tobacco Pipe

Belonging to their Quaint series, denoting pipes that fall outside of Dunhill's traditional shape chart and often times marking unique designs, this bent Dublin maintains the gentle taper often associated with the shape, but with a softly rounded heel reminiscent of an Acorn. Coming out of the low-slung transition that accentuates the height of the bowl, the shank makes a slight upturn before being outpaced by the tapered stem, itself making a firm downturn, which should provide quite the comfortable smoking position. Wearing the earthy Cumberland sandblast and paired to a stem of brindled vulcanite, this piece strikes quite the fetching profile.

When Alfred Dunhill released his patented Shell Briar, he forever changed the pipe-smoking world at large. Dunhill has often been credited with being the first to offer sandblasted pipes (arguably the most popular finish today), and the Cumberland finish further displayed Dunhill's innovative spirit. Well received after its release in 1979, the Cumberland series was named for the English marque's warehouse on Cumberland road, and the line's signature, brindled vulcanite stem became so iconic, the warmly striated material is now referred to simply as "cumberland."
