About This Pipe
Dunhill's Quaint series offers shapes that aren't found on the English firm's standard pipe chart, and for that reason, the pipes in the series are highly collectable and tend to be quite unique, as evidenced by this Group 3-sized Rhodesian. Squat and broad, the bowl here closely resemble that of a Tomato, what with its expansive girth and muscular walls. It's recognizable as a Rhodesian, however, by a pair of beadlines that demarcates the semi-domed rim from the rest of the bowl. The bowl is paired to an arrow-straight shank-and-stem arrangement that keeps the overall form sleek and streamlined, not to mention lightweight. It's dressed in the smoky hues of the Chestnut finish, which highlights an impressive array of grain about the bowl.
