About This Pipe

American pipe maker Jared Coles' style comprises a unique fusion of American muscularity, Danish fluidity, and Japanese organicism. This bent Brandy from Coles is a tight-knit piece of Nosewarmer length, offering a sizable in-hand presence in a compact size — perfect for lovers of pipes with robust proportions without excessive bulk. From the fore of the softened heel, a graceful arc underscores the bottom of the stummel. Plump of waist, the bowl's rotundity is echoed in a hearty, high-kicking shank. Said shank's thickness continues into the saddle stem's domed shoulders, which provide a shocking contrast to the diminutive bit. At the other end of the pipe, the bowl's soft waist and round walls are reminiscent of the sphericity of many Apples. Curvaceous strokes of Coles' "Weathered" rusticated finish grow from the heel, following the gentle swell of the bowl up toward the smooth-finished, auburn rim. The shank is shaped like a teardrop, with a ridgeline that curves along its right flank and blends into the bowl. Housed within the rim's perimeter is a chamber of modest capacity. An orangewood accent, teardrop-shaped like the shank, marks the junction, its creamy hue a slip of bright, contrasting color against the stummel's dark stain.
