Pristine Bent Dublin (B) (Four Star) Tobacco Pipe

A bent Dublin unlike any we have ever seen from Mark Tinsky, this piece presents with an appreciable length of over six and a half inches. There's a distinctly neoclassical sense of proportion here, with the relatively trim combination of shank and stem trailing away opposite a hearty bowl which holds nearly all of the visual weight of this pipe. Said stem is a demurely arced taper of jet-black acrylic, married to the sharply angled shank at a junction marked by a handsomely grained band of hardwood, itself flanked at the shank end by a trim band of black acrylic, matching the stem. The transition is rather tightly knit, reaching upward to form the bowl's aft which takes the form of a sweeping curve, forming ridgelines at the flanks of the bowl before flattening out a bit as it leads to the fore. Additionally, the left flank of the bowl has been carved with a single fluting channel, working in tandem with the soft ridges at the aft to provide a bit of structure to the composition. Dressing the briar here is a warm auburn stain, courtesy of Tinsky's Pristine finish, that reveals dense wisps of straight grain wrapping the bowl, while the rim is peppered with freckles of birdseye.
