About This Pipe
Luigi Radice worked in the prestigious Castello workshop before founding the Caminetto brand with Giuseppe "Peppino" Ascorti in the late 1960s. In 1980, Radice began producing his self-titled brand of pipes with his son, Gianluca, and father, Paolo. The brand pays heavy attention to the briar that goes into each pipe, seasoning it for three years before production.
Radice's Silk Cut sandblast finishes this Billiard, the bowl of which is arrow-straight and stained a very deep, dark red for a brilliant combination of a rich touch to the briar and an even richer color. Like the bowl, the shank displays some fine flame grain as it stretches back to the lengthy stem of tapered black acrylic. The stain attracts the eye immediately when focusing on this piece, but a fine sandblast and very straightforward shaping make it a truly great work of pipe making that will satisfy any fan of Radice's.
