Rind Billiard (GG) (2026) Tobacco Pipe

Luigi Radice worked in the prestigious Castello workshop before founding the Caminetto brand with Giuseppe "Peppino" Ascorti in the late 1960s. In 1980, Radice began producing his self-titled brand of pipes with his son, Gianluca, and father, Paolo. The brand pays heavy attention to the briar that goes into each pipe, seasoning it for three years before production.

A steep bowl just over two inches tall sits at the fore of this Billiard, finished with Radice's deep, craggy Rind sandblast and stained darkly but still allowing reddish-brown hues to shine through underneath. The walls of the bowl are highly muscular leading up to a very wide rim, which displays handsome birdseye finished smoothly and stained a walnut-like hue. The shank is also quite muscular and wears the same sandblast, stretching back to a tapered stem of black acrylic. The bowl's generous proportions draw the eye and easily occupy the hand with this piece, which can also serve as a handy desk pipe thanks to its wide orientation and mostly flat heel.
