About This Pipe
Ever since they were teenagers, brothers Elio and Guido Rinaldo have been honing their skills as pipe makers, beginning their careers at Mastro de Paja in 1974, where the brand's bold Pesaro-style influence remains evident in their work today. In 1987, the brothers established the Rinaldo brand, with each pipe still handcrafted by Elio and Guido themselves. Bearing the Italian marque's Skipper grade, this bent Apple boasts a hearty build within its rotund form.
This piece features a plump bowl, its supple walls arcing from a sweeping heel toward a flattened rim, creating a shape that fills the hand comfortably. Out back, a muscular shank makes a sinuous upward turn as it transitions from the bowl and is met by a smartly bent saddle stem of black acrylic. Rinaldo's Sahara finish dresses the stummel in a dark, earthy sandblast, contrasted by Guido's exemplary silverwork, with bright fitments gracing both the shank end and stem base.
