About This Pipe
In 1974, Elio and Guido Rinaldo began their half-century career in pipe making as teenagers working for Giancarlo Guidi's company, Mastro de Paja. They went on to start making pipes under their own name in 1987 and have since come to be known for their close attention to quality and comfort. This Billiard from the Rinaldo brothers is quite the dapper fellow. It's rendered in thick proportions, which are exaggerated by the tapered stem's brief length. In Italian fashion, rather than having a subtle taper towards the rim, this Billiard's bowl is perfectly cylindrical, maintaining its girth from flat heel to smooth rim. For practicality, the chamber features plenty of room for a favorite blend, and the heel is wide and sturdy to allow the smoker to rest the pipe upright without a stand. Snazzy silver accents adorn the perimeter of the rim and the junction. Smattered across these accents are fine dots tastefully mimicking the stummel's rusticated texture while also showcasing the Italian brothers' meticulous craftsmanship.
