Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (6) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph series consists of unique, limited-production shapes crafted entirely by the hands of the workshop's most experienced artisans. As an old Savinelli catalogue put it, thanks to their handmade nature, "The Savinelli Autographs are as individual as your fingerprints." This bent Dublin is a curvaceous composition from Savinelli's famed Autograph series. A soft, uplifted heel eases the flow from the bowl's front wall into the bottom of the plump, subtly upturned shank. Where normally this would affect forward motion in the pipe, such an effect is countered by the direction of the bowl's flame grain. Instead of directing the eye to the pipe's fore, it points back, evoking a sense of directional balance. The transition is equally as round and smooth flowing as the heel, giving way to a supply shaped shank that merges into a gently bent, swift tapering stem. This pipe's color scheme is rather reserved for Savinelli, but the streaks of golden-amber hues within the translucent stem pair excellently with the smooth stummel's amber stain. Viewing the pipe from above, the bowl's walls are heartily proportioned to show off a wealth of coiled birdseye that churns around the rim's subtle inward slant like ink dropped into water.
