About This Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph series features limited-production, handmade pipes from the Italian marque, with stummels of specially aged briar that are turned by the workshop's three most experienced carvers. This series allows the artisans to deviate from the marque's typical shape chart, resulting in striking, one-of-a-kind interpretations of classic shapes. With its exaggerated proportions and unique silhouette, this bent Dublin Sitter is a more than fitting example.

This pipe boasts a highly dynamic, energetic composition, from the stretched, curling, oblong rim to the flaring, upturned shank and distinctive acrylic stem. Despite its exaggerated sense of motion, this piece is able to sit steadily without the aid of a pipe stand — courtesy of the bowl's crisp, flat heel. The stylized stem joins the shank via a cinched, push-style tenon, making for easy disassembly and cleaning. A light, smooth finish showcases gorgeous grain throughout the stummel, with tight clusters of birdseye adorning the shank face and the bowl's fore and rim, and fine flame grain climbing the bowl's flanks. If you're on the hunt for a masterful, thoroughly Italian neoclassical reimagining of the bent Dublin that combines whimsy with practicality, this piece certainly won't disappoint.
