About This Pipe
Savinelli's Autograph series features limited-production, handmade pipes from the Italian marque, with stummels of specially aged briar that are turned by the workshop's three most experienced carvers. This series allows the artisans to deviate from the marque's typical shape chart, resulting in striking, one-of-a-kind interpretations of classic shapes, with this bent Billiard being a fine example.
The bowl of this bent Billiard displays a prominent forward cant established by slanting, cylindrical walls. Out back, the shank angles steeply into the air, creating a strong sense of push and pull within the composition which is only furthered by the long, graceful arch of the stem. Said stem is fashioned from burgundy-and-white-swirled acrylic — a handsome complement to the stummel's deep, ruby-tinged sandblast.
