Founded by Giancarlo Guidi in 1982, Ser Jacopo boasts a rich history of pipe making that will soon mark 40 years, enjoying a well-deserved reputation of being on the cutting edge of the Pesaro style of pipe making. The late Giancarlo Guidi was an avid art collector and enthusiast. So much of an enthusiast, in fact, that he created the Picta line — a series inspired by pipes featured in the works of major artists like van Gogh, Miro, and Magritte. Taking inspiration from van Gogh's work, this Calabash boasts a stocky, upright bowl that's poised at the fore of a high-reaching shank-and-stem arrangement. Said bowl flares from its sweeping heel to its broad, domed rim, which is subtly chamfered near the chamber, enabling the efficient loading of a favorite blend. A light ochre stain dresses the rusticated stummel, while a silver accent along the transition adds a touch of flash to the composition.
