This "151" bent Apple from Vauen marries old-school shaping with a modern sensibility. While the shank-and-stem arrangement is flowing and sinuous, striking a gestural S-curve out back, the plump, rounded bowl is quite structural, with paneled facets encompassing all sides of it. The bowl is poised atop a lifted heel that drives the composition outward. A smoky smooth finish dresses the briar and highlights tight strands of flame grain on either flank of the bowl. Metallic accents along the shank end and stem base offer a dose of vibrancy to the composition for further visual appeal.
