About This Pipe
Wojtek Pastuch's path to becoming a master pipe maker began, as it often does for many artisans, as a simple love for the hobby. As a dedicated pipe smoker, he initially focused on restoring his personal collection, gradually perfecting the skills that would later define his exceptional creations. His work seamlessly combines the timeless sophistication of Anglo-French classics with distinctive, more unconventional designs, all enriched by the influence of Danish pipe-making traditions. With an unwavering attention to detail, Pastuch ensures that each pipe is not only visually stunning but also provides a superb smoking experience.
This paneled Billiard is a beautiful showcase of Pastuch's craftsmanship, combining precise shaping with exceptional natural grain. The bowl is defined by four evenly proportioned panels that taper gently toward the rim, creating a clean, architectural silhouette. Shaping panels this consistently is no small feat, and Pastuch's execution is made even more impressive by the quality of the grain across the bowl, with each face displaying striking, tightly defined birdseye in impressive relief. The paneled motif continues into the shank, which meets the bowl at a softly rounded transition. A cumberland stem complements the reddish hues of the stummel, while its junction is accented by a pale band of mammoth tusk. Despite its substantial visual presence, the pipe is remarkably lightweight, making it an exceptionally comfortable piece to carry and enjoy.
