Hurricane Florence Update Revisited

Update for 11:00am, Friday September 21st: We are expecting both the Post Office and UPS to pick up this afternoon.

Update for 9:45am, Friday, September 21st: We were once again able to reach the building this morning and are working at a mostly normal capacity. We are currently in the process of confirming the status of the Post Office and UPS for this afternoon.

Update for 6:15pm, Thursday, September 20th: Shipping operated normally today and both UPS and USPS were able to pick up. We expect the same to be true tomorrow. Phone service is back to normal also. Thanks for hanging in there with us!

The area rivers are still projected to rise into the weekend, so we may still see a minor service interruption on Saturday and possibly Monday as flood waters prevent us from reaching the building. We are now fairly certain that the water will not reach the facility.

Update for 2:00pm, Thursday, September 20th: Currently, we cannot receive incoming calls from our normal Customer Service line. Instead, please call us at (843) 281-9304 to speak to our experts. We are expecting both the Post Office and UPS to pick up a shipment this afternoon.

Update for 10:30am, Thursday, September 20th: We were able to access the building this morning and are continuing to operate mostly normally. We are expecting the Post Office to pick up a shipment this afternoon and we are currently in the process of confirming the status of UPS.

Update for 4:30pm, Wednesday, September 19th: Fortunately, one road to the area remained open northbound from the facility and we were able to ship all packages today. Our plan is to continue service from the facility tomorrow, assuming we can still get there.

As of 10:30 EST, Wednesday, September 19th, the facility is again closed for normal business as flood waters from the Waccamaw River and Buck's Creek rise around us. Fortunately, the building is on higher ground, but will become inaccessible as the one remaining area road closes.

We expect to be able to reopen the building with limited service over the weekend and resume shipping on Monday, September 24th, or Tuesday, September 25th. Fortunately, we were able to ship the overwhelming majority of the packages that accumulated from the first closure over the past couple of days.

As of this writing, a small crew of Laudisi staff is at the building making last minute preparations for the anticipated flooding. Again, we do not anticipate flooding in the building, but we are preparing for that remote eventuality. I will post updates to this blog post as the situation evolves.

Again, I thank you for your patience and concern. It's trite to say you have the best customers in the world, but we really do. Thank you.
