About This Pipe
I like shapes like this one. The outside is shaped like an opera pipe, but the chamber is round (thank the pipe gods). I personally am really not a fan of the silly oval chamber ([rant] because a) it's impossible to ream, and b) it just looks silly; while we're at it, why doesn't anyone make an octagonal chamber or a triangular one? Let's make it as unusable as possible. Chambers should be round. Period. [/rant]), though I rather like the external shape. So, I find this a more than acceptable balance. The outside of the bowl is an oval when viewed from above, but the chamber is as perfectly round as the circle painted by Giotto for the pope. Oh, and the rustication looks smashingly good, highlighted as it is by the (round) silver band at the end of the shank.
