About This Pipe
Much as Mozart began my favorite of his symphonies (the 40th) with a feeling of the brooding and contemplative created by keying in G minor, Poul Winslow's use of this dark and pensive stain (yet again, one of my personal favorites) sets the mood for a somber and traditional execution. Upon this adagio base a scherzo of superbly tight, windswept grain sweeps to the fore, finishing in an allergro con molto vivace movement of explosive birdseye on the front panel. Bravo!
