About This Cigar
In 2006, Illusione released a small-batch of cigars called the mkultra — a stronger version of their mk line. Several years later the aptly named Ultra line expanded to six sizes, including the mkultra. Now, Illusione is assimilating the Ultra line into their core series, Original Documents. Despite the move, the Ultra cigar blend remains unaltered and features a Corojo wrapper and ligero fillers from Estelí and Jalapa. Bold, refined, and nuanced, the Original Documents Ultra cigars are full-bodied and offer flavors of nuts, cedar, pepper, and cream.

Product: Illusione Original Documents Ultra Lancero
hurchill (see I can't remember the vitola name!) and the MK Ultra (a petit corona/mareva with a name too recognizable to forget). I'm also a fan of lanceros, so I was stoked to see an Ultra Lancero now available.
I've always felt the Ultra Line wasn't particularly fuller in body or flavor than the regular Original Documents, but I have noticed they seem to pack a more serious nicotine punch, and flavor-wise, they have tended towards "darker" flavors to me, such as coffee bean, unsweetened cocoa, and pepper spice. They still retain some of the Illusione/Agarnorsa signature flavors, but different. This Lancero follows suit. It has the dark, oily, and splotchier wrapper. It delivers similar flavors to those I grew used to with the Churchill size. Draw and burn were both excellent. I do think Illusione makes better lanceros, both in the corojo version of the original, original documents, and the Fume D' Amour, which is possibly my favorite lancero in the world.
Still highly recommended. I don't think this would overwhelm most cigar smokers, though watch out for the nicotine. I think it would be a really good after-dinner smoke. I had mine with drip coffee, but it would go well with espresso, brown liquors, and an agave forward tequila as well, IMO....Read More
