t and in perfect harmony. As you work your way through the bowl the oriental and Latakia join the party, with just the right amount of Perique to bring it all together. The room note is surprisingly pleasant, and has an almost incense quality to it. This is a perfect after dinner blend, with just the right amount of vitamin N. This is tailor made for the cellar, and I can't help but think that it will only get better with age. Read Less

his was quite moist. Upon lighting there was rum and sweet Virginia. Latakia and Perique were the next couple to show up to the party. A sweet smooth concoction that I could imagine only getting better with age. The room note wasn’t too overwhelming as I didn’t get the usual complaints. I have to say this is becoming one of my favorites. It’s no replacement for blends long gone, and far to good to be called a substitute either. My only regret was not buying more. Read Less

as an aromatic but I am not sure I would put it there given today's common definition of an aromatic. First the rum. The rum is very evident in the tin note, it is almost all I can detect. I get a sour note from the Perique and Oriental, I assume. The flavor is fantastic. I get a nicely balanced English, rich in flavor no one tobacco seems to run the show. Creaminess from the Latakia and Orientals, sweetness from the Virginia base and a hint of pepper from the Perique. The Perique is really not easy to detect to my taste but there is hint of pepper like spice on the finish that I assume is the Perique, the figgy flavor may be blended so well with the Virginia's that you cannot tease it out, but as far as I am concerned the hallmark of a great blend is the marriage of the flavors and this delivers in that department unlike most blends. The rum must add some sweetness and flavor but it is so well sublimated into the other flavors all it does is make the constituent tobacco's taste better... which BTW is what added flavors were originally intended to do, not taste like smoking a lollipop. Fantastic blend, probably a great intro for smokers that haven't dove into the English genre yet. Looking forward to the bourbon barrel aged version of Plum Pudding but I am afraid the bar may be set to high (I am also afraid it will screw up the flavor like bourbon barrels do to beer, IMO). What an interesting blend! As someone who abhors aromatics, I was very pleasantly surprised by this one. The rum taste is definitely in the foreground, but in interacts very well with the Latakia and Orientals. Give it a try.

s out with a little effort. Burns slow with a few extra relights. The strength is mild to medium and nic is mild. Flavoring is mild, with notes of Rum. Rum quite strong upon initial lighting, then drops to the background. There also seems to be a tangy fruitiness that is quite strong throughout the smoke that seems to be attributed the rum barrel aging. Taste is medium and mostly consistent, with complex notes of sweet tangy dark stewed fruit, sugar, mild smoky, sour zesty citrus, bready, musty wood, dry, savory, slight herbal, earthy rich, floral, slightly acidic, spicy, a spices and tart raisin background note, and a peppery retro. Virginia is leading with Latakia, Oriental/Turkish, Perique and Flavoring supporting. Room note is tolerable, and aftertaste is great. Read Less

I come back to this blend every few weeks and I always wonder why I don't smoke it more often. Then I forget about it again. It's good, but I don't know that it's worthy of a name with so many syllables.

Strong rum aroma from the tin. It’s a smooth smoking tobacco, but literally becomes flavorless after a few centimeters into the bowl.

straight GROSS.
Tin note is ammonia and so strong opening it in the shop not only gives me a headache and a makes me want to gag but offended my work crew so bad they all left the room for the first time ever.
As for smoking this I get a weird mix of Ammonia, plum and cheap cheap plastic bottle bourbon with a top hit of liquid smoke.
Won't even be bothering to age what I have will either toss it or give it away.

I will order at least one tin everytime I order something off of this site. It's got the perfect blend of spice and latakia to make for an amazing anytime smoke. Very mellow but full bodied. Very cool smoking.

moking this one, I found it to be rather unbalanced. I mostly tasted the oriental tobacco, with the other ingredients rarely reaching some kind of equilibrium with it. The Virginia and Perique were mostly absent, and the Latakia was there only after much sussing out. I can't say what it is people enjoy about it, but for my money I won't be buying either blend again. Read Less
