About This Pipe Tobacco
Enhanced with condimental tobaccos, Seattle Pipe Club's Mississippi River Special Reserve elevates Joe Lankford's original masterpiece with a selection of rich red Virginias, Orientals, Latakia, and Perique. These tobaccos are aged and then pressed and cut into plugs. Available here in a 2oz. tin.
From the Tin: "I've been dreaming of this Special Reserve edition of Mississippi River. It's my treat for you. Rare leaf is pressed in cakes, aged and cut into plugs for you to slice or crumble as you please. The Virginia is some of the best I've smoked. This is one of the first tobacco's i've had that really truly blew me away. its taste is full and complex but the big thing for me is that it left my lips sweet. if you've never understood what aging does to tobacco this is the one to try

Barely any Latakia.

I actually was quite surprised with this one. Im not a huge fan of Latakia and the tangy Virginia really shined through for me. I came back for more but too late apparently. Still waiting on Galloping Gertie. My favorite SPC blend.

It is very different from other L grass. It does not have the strong leather smell of other L grass, and the taste layer is very rich, which is worth having.

'd like it.
Even though the tin note has vinegar, it dissipates pretty quick. This actually a little closer to the old P&C version. Has a little more body and flavor than MR. A little sweeter, smoker, and fuller but no drastic differences. Has a touch of tang from the vinegar but not over powering.
Over all its better. Not worth $21 a tin but if I had a itch for it then this would ve the version I'd get....Read More
