Product: Cornell & Diehl Bow-Legged Bear 2oz
This is fantastic! From the tin note of smokey bbq, the packing, the lighting and enjoyment through the whole bowl, I thought this would be a so so English. Wrong! This is a winner, and I believe this will also get even better with aging. Well balanced, smooth, smokey and shall I say satisfying! Wonderful blend C&D!!...Read More
One of the best from C&D

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bow-Legged Bear 2oz
This is an excellent blend. When fresh it jumps from one leaf to another, when aged the leaves sing harmoniously together, either way is enjoyable to me. The burley is superb and though it is the lightest portion in the mix, to me, it is what pulls this blend together. You get nuttiness from the burley, bread and citrus from the Virginias, some exotic spices from the orientals, and raisin/pepper from the perique, all underscored by a light smokiness from the Turkish latakia, and it’s simply wonderful. Creamy, smoky, nutty, reminiscent of an oatmeal cookie at times. No bite, good nicotine content, calm consistent burn and easy handling. The only other of a similar ilk I have found is Drucquer & Sons King’s Fool. Like I said, one of, if not THE, best C&D has to offer....Read More

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bow-Legged Bear 2oz
I had seen a review of this blend elsewhere comparing it to "Frog Morton", and I can say it isn't even close. Not sure if it is the age (date on tin is 12/26/24) but I couldn't smell the latakia from the tin. Wasn't even present in the flavor or room note. Do not think I will purchase again....Read More
Not bad at all, but a bit weak on flavor and strength.

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bow-Legged Bear 8oz
Like some other reviewers, I had high hopes for this blend. I’m primarily an English/Balkan guy, and it checks all the boxes upon description. All the ingredients. Rates 4/5 on taste and strength. The cake is gorgeous, breaks apart easily, and may be the best burning English I’ve ever encountered. And indeed, all the flavors are present, but they are more along the lines of a 2 to 3/5 to my palate. Nic hit is medium, as well. The flavor has much more in common with EMP or Chelsea Morning than it does with Super Balkan or Nightcap. No bite. Not a bad choice for an all-day English; it’s just that the description was off for me....Read More

Product: Cornell & Diehl Bow-Legged Bear 2oz
I have some bias against this tobacco, so it's going to slant my review. My first bowl was in a Peterson 201 that I have been smoking Haunted Bookshop in for a long time. I didn't care for it. I continued to smoke it exclusively until the cake was finished. By my last bowl of it, I decided it wasn't bad. I wouldn't mind smoking it again. BUT, I don't think I will ever buy it again. It just doesn't compare to my everyday blends. As I wrote, I'm biased. If you haven't got a favorite English blend and you try Bow Legged Bear, I think you will really like it. I still have a 8oz can in my cellar and I think It will stay there for a long time before I open it....Read More
