s - but mainly raisins. Like Sunmaid raisins in the little boxes that my mom used to pack into my lunch.
Sampled in a MM Missouri Pride.
This blending tobacco can totally be enjoyed solo - and I can tell you in the future I will be doing exactly that. It’s got the subtle sweetness of a sweet tea bought in Maryland (sorry Maryland but it’s called SWEET tea for a reason, not a suggestion). There’s also an acidic tang that’s like cherry but not a cheery flavor.
Do not come here looking for the good vinegary ketchupy red Virginia notes - I’m guessing the steaming of the cavendish process negates them - but there is a slight tang none the less and honestly it makes this more than just a blending component.
It’s tasty. It’s also kinda monotone 95% of the time BUT it’s a good monotone. I could totally see this sold in big 8oz Tubs along codger blends - it’s bone stock simple but I have no doubt it’s also 100% reliable/predictable.
It makes a nice , full smoke. I think it has to be the secret component in many blends - and I’m really curious what home blends folks may have with this as a central component. I personally use it in my English blend “HP01 Wels Catfish”.
I could smoke this solo, and often. Especially when fishing or camping. I also think it may be useful to “spruce up” a blend time to time that’s “lacking something”.
It weird to cellar a blending blend as a smoking blend - but, I think I want some of this on hand.
My rating : 4
Yay! This makes 50 blends of the 101 C&D Bulk blends I am reviewing for the project. Hard to believe that we’ve gotten here in just about a month.
I have the remaining 51 samples already on hand - and will resume in a few days. But for now I’m taking a break to enjoy my briars and some old friends before carrying on.
(And I’m waiting for another case of mini jars - I forgot to order them in time to keep going but Amazon says they’ll be here in a couple days.)...Read More

crumbly.
Lastly, this stuff would not stay lit. Will try a light rehydration. Would reorder on taste alone.
Update: took rehydration well and is behaving a bit better. I mixed in about 7% red Virginia Cavendish with smokers Pride Cherry Cavendish and added 5% Half & Half, lastly, 4% Black Vanilla Cavendish to slow down the burn made for a satisfying mix. So I'll likely keep some on hand.
I suggest you buy some now while it's dry stock. You'll get close to 3 ounces worth in a 2 oz order....Read More

Bready, Herbal and Slightly Sweet

nto the smoke and tamping brings forth a bit of spice and ash. It’s a component… but it's a much better stand-alone than other cavendish products as this yields a much higher quality and nuance. It yields a lightly sweetened herbal quality and smoothness to any mixture/blend. I mixed it with C&D Ribbon Cut Burley and it countered the tannic earthiness with herbal sweetness. It matches the darker and deeper tones of the burley and smoothed and spread the varied notes on the palate. Mild to medium body. Nicotine is mild; 1.5 out of 5 ....Read More
