Fox Hound is a blend of cube-cut Burley, matured Red and Bright Virginias, Cavendish, and St. James Perique, enhanced by a pinch of Turkish Latakia. It's a subtly fragrant smoke well suited to calm, early mornings.

morning, as the description says. I did not feel any nicotine (which is fine by me). I tried it in a new Rossi 8806. With some jar time and a broken in pipe it could be different, and everyone’s palate is different. As of now, I’ll say it’s good but not inspiring me to buy more....Read More

Excellent “American-style” blend

—you know it’s there, but it’s a condiment that serves to add body and cool the blend.
The Perique is more prominent, but also restrained. Most blends feature one side of the Perique spectrum—the stewed fruit or the peppery spice—but this one somehow captures both aspects.
All of these merge well with the base of quality Virginias and Burley, with the Cavendish serving to smooth and merge everything.
In all, this is a really well-conceived blend where the five varietals each play a noticeable role, but don’t compete for attention. It’s unique enough that I can’t think of many clear comparisons—I’d love to see what other reviewers think.
