Rainer Barbi Sandblasted Billiard (ARCB) Tobacco Pipe

The most famous of German carvers in his day, Rainer Barbi passed in 2011, leaving behind a vast portfolio of his creative and wonderfully executed artisan compositions. This Billiard is among his most traditional, though it possesses Barbi's modifications in form and line. The heel is lifted, enhancing the organic style of the bowl, which rises in shapely contours and tall stature to the rim. The cross grain orientation of the bowl places birdseye on the sides and vertical growth rings fore and aft, with a long, very gradual taper of shank and stem leaving a wide transition that provides an impression of one singular element.
