Adam Davidson Sandblasted Fig (2015) (Unsmoked) Tobacco Pipe

Adam Davidson graduated with a degree in industrial design, and he has put that degree to good use as both an artisan and the chief evaluator and restorer of estates here at Smokingpipes. Known as much for his innovative inclinations as he is for his exacting approach, Davidson boasts a portfolio replete with stunning pipes, of which this Fig is a lovely example.

Generally speaking, the Fig is a rare shape defined by an Acorn-like bowl with round walls, an inflated rim, and a spur-like heel. This Fig's bowl certainly meets all of said criteria, and it's paired to a short, upturned, flaring shank whose visual weight almost rivals that of the bowl. An arcing, hand-cut stem of vulcanite tops of the composition, joining the curved shank face that shares the rim's inflated appearance. This offering comes dressed in an earthy chestnut sandblast that renders the briar's gorgeous grain with stunning clarity and no shortage of tactile appeal.
