About This Pipe

The first pipe Pete Prevost owned was a corncob that he purchased in his hometown of Bakersfield, California, at age 18, and the first pipe he made was a smooth Nosewarmer Billiard he spent two days making from a kit. He learned pipe making from Jody Davis and Todd Johnson, and would start BriarWorks with Todd in 2013, later becoming the company's president.

This Acorn from Pete has plenty of visual intrigue to draw the eye to bowl, shank, or stem all at once. The bowl is very squat at just under one inch in depth but wears tight flame grain on the walls, stained a light walnut hue and topped with shallow plateau on the rim. A very brief stub of briar connects the bowl to a five-knuckle length of bamboo which provides a significant touch of naturalism. A saddle stem of lightly bent teal Bakelite finishes the piece with a great splash of color.
