Adam Davidson graduated with a degree in industrial design, and he has put that degree to good use as both an artisan and the chief evaluator and restorer of estates here at Smokingpipes. The Fig is a rare signature shape of Davidson's, and is generally defined by an Acorn-like bowl with round walls, an inflated rim, and a Cutty-like foot or spur on the heel. This Fig's bowl certainly meets all of said criteria, and it's paired to a short, upturned, flaring shank whose visual weight almost rivals that of the bowl. An arcing, hand-cut stem of vulcanite tops off the composition, its posture poised for a comfortable clench. A trim band of silver adorns the junction, adding a subtle dose of flash against the stummel's warm, smooth finish.
