About This Pipe

David Iafisco's work reflects a rich tapestry of influences, from the artistry of Teddy Knudsen and Claudio Cavicchi to the precision of Jeff Gracik and Adam Davidson. This eclectic inspiration is evident across his portfolio, which encompasses everything from Freehand-inspired masterpieces to impeccably executed traditional shapes. Regardless of form, Iafisco's creativity remains unmistakable, with his masterful attention to finish and impeccable sense of proportion consistently elevating each piece to a striking visual statement.

This bent Dublin represents one of Iafisco's more restrained designs, yet it exudes a refined elegance that commands attention. The tall, thick-walled bowl rises from a subtly lifted heel to a wide, concave rim accented by two pronounced points at fore and aft. A gently angled transition connects the bowl to an upturned shank, flowing seamlessly into a long, arcing stem of jet-black vulcanite. Despite its slender silhouette, the shank-and-stem perfectly balance the bowl, accentuating its forward cant and refined posture. The ensemble is dressed in a lustrous honey-blonde smooth finish, which highlights captivating flame grain along the stummel's flanks, creating a piece that is at once elegant, dynamic, and visually commanding.
