About This Pipe
Founded by Carlo Scotti in 1947, Castello is recognized by some enthusiasts for being one of the first Italian brands to separate from the conventional English and French shaping standards. All of their pipes are individually shaped by a small team of artisans who focus on quality in both form and function. This Poker is one of the more reserved pieces from Castello, boasting a traditional silhouette. The bowl is possessed of thick, insulating walls that extend from the flattened underside to the trim rim, creating a hearty, cylindrical form. Out back, the shank extends from a mid-set transition, keeping the composition proportional as it angles to the tapered stem, which gives the profile a sleek appearance. Dressed in the eye-catching Le Dune finish, the stummel displays a carved pattern, intended to evoke the image of shifting desert sands in a rich dark finish.
