About This Pipe
Henri Sørensen, originally a glazier, was drawn to pipe making due to his passion for craftsmanship and smoking. Influenced by Denmark's pipe-making tradition and guided by masters like Tom Eltang and Erick Nielsen, he developed a personal style that combines classic influences with his distinct vision.
At just under five inches long, this Apple by Sørensen has a compact, approachable profile that makes it well-suited to everyday use. Its rounded bowl rests on a soft, gently flattened underside, with the line of the heel flowing cleanly into the underside of the shank. The bowl's full curves give it a comfortable, substantial feel in the hand despite its smaller dimensions, while the tapered Cumberland stem extends in a straight format that complements the streamlined shaping of the stummel. The warm tones of the Cumberland provide a natural contrast to the dark briar. The stummel is dressed in a deeply textured rustication of dimpled, scale-like grooves, giving the briar a rugged tactile quality that complements the softer curves of the bowl.
