About This Pipe
Wandi Riyadi is one of Indonesia's few artisan pipe makers, and he boasts a broad and impressive portfolio. Taking inspiration from Japanese and Danish artisans like the Ivarssons, Bo Nordh, and Hiroyuki Tokutomi, his pipes often showcase a sculptural and highly organic style, although he has also mastered more conservative shapes such as this compact Billiard.
With a total length of just over four and a half inches, this piece is conveniently petite, yet still retains plenty of charming detail within the compact composition. The stummel wears a deep, smoky rustication that offers a wealth of stimulating texture to keep the hands occupied. A generous accent band of horn adorns the junction, its dark hues falling seamlessly in line with the rest of the stummel's smoky color palette. A short, fishtail-style stem completes the piece, and an expansion ring near the base approximates the shank's width, establishing a further sense of continuity and balance within the composition. All in all, this is a ruggedly handsome piece, and perfect for the smoker who often finds themself on the go.
