About This Pipe
This is a bit of an unusual piece for Tsuge. While the Ikebana pipe tends to be a bit more effusive in its shaping than say, Satou, they tend to "draw within the lines" more so than the organic pieces of Tokutomi, or the streamline moderne of Arita. This whale's shaping is delightfully Tokyo moderne, an execution which captures the cetacean's noble spirit through pleasing extraction. The cross cut grain and birdseye add appeal to an already compelling pipe.
