About This Pipe
Compared to much of Ardor's portfolio and even other bent Apples, this particular bent Apple is quite the elegant, more classically-oriented piece. There's a wonderfully fluid sense of languid sinuousness here, with the line running from shank to stem comprising a gestural curve which is enhanced by the tapered stem's completion of the undercurve. The shank takes on an easy upward arc to meet this demurely downturned stem, flowing out from a wide transition and continuing the lines of the gently lifted heel, lending the overall composition a Danish style of poise. The bowl isn't as large as other bent Apples Ardor has crafted, and the shank and stem take on a much easier flow and ovoid shape than we're used to seeing, reinforcing the presence of the bowl from the side. Said bowl is quite comfortable in the hand, with plump contours and ample curvature to offer a comfortable fit in hand, its low-set waistline ensuring the fingers have a lovely base to rest upon. The stummel is dressed in the inky stain and craggy rustication of the Urano series, which cleverly complements the swirling hues of the amber-like stem.
