About This Pipe
Claudio Cavicchi's impressive career in pipemaking spans over half a century. With such extensive experience, it is no surprise that the Italian pipemaker has been able to hone his abilities to a legendary status. This bent Billiard boasts stunning flame grain, an attestment to Cavicchi's keen eye for identifying the best possible grain in each block of briar he uses. Streaks of flame grain radiate from the stern heel, guiding the eye through the thick-walled bowl's rise toward a rim crowned with shallow mesas of plateau. Said bowl's wide walls house a respectable chamber whose capacity will not disappoint. Set halfway up the aft wall, a buff transition gives way to a slightly uplifted shank whose muscularity echoes that of the bowl. A slim acrylic accent, colored black, encircles a portion of the shank end, making the stem's shoulders appear to be higher than they are. The narrow bit punctuates the pipe with a chaste bend to its graceful poise. A honey-blonde, smooth finish dresses the stummel. This pipe is graded an impressive four "C's" out of a possible five.
