About This Pipe
One of Italy's finest pipe makers, Claudio Cavicchi has carved pipes for over 40 years and is still going strong. Known for shaping briar in ways that maximize its natural grain, Cavicchi seems to possess an almost intuitive ability to read and enhance the wood. This bent Dublin is a superb example of Cavicchi's craftsmanship, with tight striations of flame grain that flow naturally along the bowl's flaring walls. The full-bodied shape is perfectly suited to showcase the briar's innate beauty, brought to life by Cavicchi's distinct brown stain. The rim reveals a captivating spread of plateau throughout. A wide transition gives way to a cylindrical shank that meets a stylized stem of black acrylic. The shank is accented with a thick band of cumberland, offering a nice contrast to this already striking composition.
