Dunhill: Chestnut with Silver (5233) (2020) Tobacco Pipe

Product Number: 002-015-5860

A less-often-seen shape from Dunhill, this "33" is the English marque's take on the classic Brandy. Similar to the Volcano, it features a tall, upright bowl that tapers toward the rim from a broad, ridgeline-wrapped heel. The shank-and-stem arrangement sweeps from the muscular transition into a long, elegant S-curve that promotes a comfortable smoking posture and provides balance to the Group 5-sized bowl. The smoky Chestnut smooth finish dresses the stummel and highlights fields of birdseye across the flanks of the bowl, while a sterling silver accent adorns the junction and adds a dose of flash to the pipe in profile.

A sibling to the Cumberland, Dunhill's Chestnut finish was inaugurated in 1983 to commemorate the closing of the Cumberland Rd. warehouse for which the Cumberland finish was named. Like the Cumberland, pipes in the Chestnut line wear the same dark, smoky stain and are fitted to stems of cumberland but feature a silky smooth, glossy finish compared to the Cumberland's rugged sandblast.
