About This Pipe
Luiz Lavos's journey in pipe making began during his childhood in his grandfather's shop, where he developed a hands-on understanding of woodworking. With a background in graphic design, he merges artistic flair with skilled craftsmanship in his pipe making. His style reflects a blend of classic Danish influence and a bold sensibility that is distinctly his own. Today, he stands as a highly esteemed craftsman not only in Brazil but also around the world.
This squat Dublin is a delight to hold, as its plump bowl is perfectly shaped for gripping, and its lightweight design enhances the experience. The bowl flares out to a smooth rim, beautifully adorned with captivating swirls of birdseye grain. The shank also flares and transitions into an extension crafted from genuine horn, showcasing swirling hues and grain-like patterns that add a striking touch to the piece. The push-style stem connects to the shank with some open space between them, and its rounded shoulders create a stacked, domed silhouette. The stummel is finished with an auburn stain that beautifully highlights the grain patterns, providing an ideal contrast to the pale horn.
