About This Pipe
The story of the Musico workshop began with Giorgio Musico, who frequently bought pipes from Italian pipe maker Fritz Becker. Their sons, Massimo Musico and Paolo Becker, would go on to found the Becker & Musico workshop, which primarily crafted classic pipe shapes. Eventually, the two went their separate ways, with Massimo Musico continuing to pursue a traditional aesthetic. Though Musico is an Italian marque, their briars often echo the refined traditions of Anglo-French design, as seen in this bent Bulldog. A graceful interpretation of the classic form, it presents a squat, full-bodied bowl set at the fore of a flowing diamond shank and a demurely curved tapered stem. The silhouette balances subtle sinuousness with architectural precision, creating a design that is at once fluid and firm. The shape is elegantly dressed in a rugged sandblast, topped with a dark stain for an all-black, moody color palette.
