About This Pipe
The story of the Musico workshop began with Giorgio Musico, who frequently bought pipes from Italian pipe maker Fritz Becker. Their sons, Massimo Musico and Paolo Becker, would go on to found the Becker & Musico workshop, which primarily crafted classic pipe shapes. Eventually, the two went their separate ways, with Massimo Musico continuing to pursue a traditional aesthetic under the name Musico.
This small, lightweight bent Apple leans toward Anglo-French classics while retaining a certain robustness in its bowl. The bowl is slightly forward-canted, with gentle muscularity that gives the shape a comfortable feel in the hand. A very short shank takes a light upward curve into a military mount, paired to a slender, well-bent stem that sits comfortably between the teeth. The stummel is finished in a light sandblast, highlighting rings of grain throughout the briar while adding a nice texture to the surface.
