Autograph Smooth Bent Dublin (5) (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

As one might expect from a hand-carved flagship series, this Savinelli Autograph bent Dublin takes some (no unappreciated) liberties in its shaping. The chamber is quite deep, and though it possesses only the slightest of tapers, it is narrow enough to promise a flavorful smoke. On the outside, a hard-edged diamond shank melts effortlessly into a bowl which would be almost Billiard-like if not for a slightly convex rear wall, and a front face which peaks to an edge. These defining lines are merely a continuation of the diamond shank. It is this edge that probably best defines the overall composition, both for the way in which it ties everything from stem to rim into a seamless whole, as well as for the simple fact that it is the most prominent visual and tactile feature. As this ridge journeys up the bowl, it offers a contrast to the feel of the smooth finish as well as providing just enough extra material to actually make the pipe fit better in one's hand.

The finishing touch to all this is a grain pattern well-aligned, with birdseye at both rim and heel, and slightly wavering, vertical strands of grain all around the bowl.
