Autograph Sandblasted Rhodesian (6mm) Tobacco Pipe

Savinelli's Autograph series features limited-production, handmade pipes from the Italian marque, with stummels of specially aged briar that are turned by the workshop's three most experienced carvers. This series allows the artisans to deviate from the marque's typical shape chart, resulting in striking, one-of-a-kind interpretations of classic shapes, with this Rhodesian being a prime example.

In terms of overall shaping, this is a slightly more reserved offering from the Autograph series, yet it still boasts the distinctly Italian neoclassical proportions often implemented by Savinelli's artisans. The bowl is exceptionally hearty, and stretches ever so slightly at the fore, giving the rim an oblong appearance while the chamber remains round. Said chamber is of a moderate size, making this offering well-suited for a variety of blends and occasions. Out back, a muscular, ovoid shank pairs to a tapering stem of black acrylic with a gentle downturn at the bit. This combination adds a touch of graceful fluidity to the piece, and promotes a relaxed smoking posture in hand. Dressing the stummel is a deep, earthy stain over a crisp sandblast that draws out rippling ring grain along the bowl, as well as maelstroms of birdseye around the rim and across the shank.
