Savinelli's Autograph series features limited-production, handmade pipes from the Italian marque, with stummels of specially aged briar that are turned by the workshop's three most experienced carvers. This series allows the artisans to deviate from the marque's typical shape chart, resulting in striking, one-of-a-kind interpretations of classic shapes, with this bent Dublin Sitter being one example.

Canted forward dramatically, the bowl of this Sitter possesses a linear, slanted fore wall, while the aft is more curved — a rather unique shaping choice, especially for a Dublin. The curve of the aft wall actually carries through the rim, which is quite thick thanks to the bowl's hearty, insulating proportions. Joining the sturdily sitting bowl is a high-kicking shank-and-stem arrangement; the stem features two grooved rings that, together with the shallow, saddled shoulders, establishes a pleasing sense of visual rhythm. A rich, smooth finish finishes off the stummel, highlighting gorgeous grain throughout. With such attractive grain and thoughtful shaping, it's no wonder this piece has earned a grade of "8," landing it among the upper echelons of Savinelli's Autograph line.
