Sandblasted Bent Egg with Plateau Tobacco Pipe

This chopped-top Werner Mummert presents a crisp and aggressive looking posture in profile, which is pretty unusual for the typically soft and organic bent Egg shape. The sandblast, as you expect from Mummert, is fantastic - deep, crisp, and densely ring-grained, while the shaping proves much more natural in hand than I, at least, expected at first glance. There's also a surprising amount of chamber tucked into that bowl, though fortunately Werner handled the angle of its drilling so that there's still plenty of thickness to the walls, even though the leading edge of the rim may make it appear thin up front.
