Best Selling Cigars

This is my number one recommendation for new smokes. It's a great cigar that's just the right size for anyone trying to develop a palate for cigars or crossing over from pipe smoking. I always finish this one wanting more, and for new smokers I think that's better than trying to finish a big cigar that you've had enough of half way through. Smooth and tasty. The cigar aficionado might find the Hemingway line bland, but they're one of my favorites. More subtle than something like an Oliva Serie V. The Hemingway doesn't seem to have as much of that strong cigar punch that can become too much for a new smoker. I smoke predominantly Cuban cigars, and I'm branching out into new world stuff. I found this very enjoyable! Great flavours of spice, a little pepper, chocolate and coffee. Given the low, low, LOW price of these cigars, I was ready to be underwhelmed. I was wrong to be so quick to judge based upon price alone. I've paid three times as much, for far inferior smokes than this.

The initial (pre-smoking) impression is one of a roughly made piece. And certainly, these cigars win no prizes in the beauty stakes. 'Rough and ready' is a phrase which springs easily to mind. A vieny wrapper, dark and slightly mottled. Slightly uneven at the least, and not at all waxy or oily. But firmly packed with what look to be quality leaves, rather than the floor-sweepings one might expect at this price point. But despite the tight construction, the draw, once cut, is surprisingly easy.

An easy light gives way to a slow and even burn. The initial 'barnyard' aroma and taste is gone within a minute or two, thankfully. Then comes a flavour of amazingly deep complexity. Earthy and savoury, like roasted flat mushrooms, yet at the same time sweet and chocolatey. The vaguest hint of vanilla, and spice. Rich, creamy and mouth filling. The smoke billows thick, white and curly as Moses' beard. The firm ash is surprisingly light in colour, almost white.

As the cigar burns slowly through, it remains cool and firm, never stodgy, soft or gooey.

The flavour and aroma just keep on getting better. Richer. Deeper. And not a hint of bitterness.

If it weren't for the fact that I want to sample so many others, I'd place these babies on standing order, and smoke nothing else. Read Less

I found this to be a fairly mild cigar in both flavor and strength. Great burn, great construction. A nice little sweetness like milk chocolate, and loads of tobacco and hay aroma. Would buy again. Read Less

Before I got into pipes I was a cigar guy. Now that I have a pipe as my main mode of enjoyment I still look for cigars to have on special occasions, camping or when I'm feeling a bit lazy about keeping my pipe lit. On a whim I picked up three of these sticks and I have to say I'm impressed. They are mild to medium in strength, have a great flavor with hints of oak, pepper, cedar and whiffs of sweetness now and again. The construction was great, burn was almost perfect and they won't break the bank. I've paid a lot more for worse cigars so don't let the price fool you. Read Less

This one was difficult to taste. The draw was tight, and even though I tried to sip, I ended up getting too much bitterness. It has cocoa, almond, citrus (grapefruit), peppery spicy, and some quince and dark fruit notes; but given how difficult it is to get those notes, I fear it’s not worth it. A little bit strong and spicy as a 5*40 petite corona cigar. Yet has a smooth classic Nicaragua flavor.

Excellent presentation, dark oily and beautiful leaf, however, the construction has soft spots and arrived slightly damaged (thank you SP for reimbursement). Taste is unique and powerful: dark chocolate, coco, coffee with good amount of Indian spice. Cigar is not static and offers different layers of taste with interesting change and combination. One of my favorite Fuente. The taste and aroma are well balanced, with significant front, middle and back changes. In the first third, wood is the dominant flavor, with honey sweetness and a slight pepper. In the middle third, the woodiness continues, with the addition of nuts and a slight floral note. In the last third, leather is added, but it's not strong. The pepper flavor intensifies and the honey flavor caramelizes. I finished ending. The aftertaste reminds me of Cuban Romeo Y Juliet, and the caramel flavor fills my mouth, and I can even feel it when I drink water. Great cigar, beautifully wrapped. If you are a pipe smoker, then grab some of these! They are slightly sweet, but in a natural tobacco background and there is cavendish pipe tobacco in the filler (from what I hear, I can't verify other than to say I taste a similar note when I smoke these). Read Less
