(maybe the black cavendish). This blend was nicely balanced and had a slightly sweet, smokey taste, with a bit of spiciness that won me over quickly. It seemed to be similar to that of John Bull with a little more kick to it. All things said, this is one to have handy, if you can get it. It seems to be on back order most of the time. Read Less

go, when I really should have done this review first. American Patriot is very similar to PWA, but is the clear winner of the two. It's a bit stronger in flavor than Wild Atlantic but still fits nicely into the all-day English variety. Missouri Meerschaum's blends have a better price tag too. American Patriot is a great EDC tobacco. It's not too strong, not too weak, has good mechanics, and an awesome flavor for such a middle-of-the-road English. If any of you have had John Bull Royal English, American Patriot has that great bold Latakia flavor without the glycerol sweetness. So, it is a lighter English blend that still has a ton of flavor you crave. Is it a meal? No. Is it a good snack to tide you over? Definitely. The only downside is the availability and that's a big one. For some reason when it's out-of-stock, it stays that way a while. I hope it's not discontinued? I'm probably just being paranoid after the McClelland and Dunhill news. Maybe, I should keep that appointment after all? Read Less

I tried this after reading the good reviews. It is fast becoming my go-to smoke. Very pleasant mild flavor with no bite at all. Really nice room note, too.

I wasn't expecting much but it's a very good, well-balanced English blend. I found it dries out a touch faster than other blends 9or maybe I have too many tins on the go). Will order again.

akia is the showcase, but honestly I found it to be sublime, not over-whelming at all. You can taste the Virginia, Turkish and Latakia - they all compliment each other without over-powering one another. And the top note - more of a tin note than a top note. Except for the initial light, I didn't really detect any of the bourbon. Maybe a bit in the aftertaste left behind, which is quite pleasant.
I've spent a lot more for much less of a smoke. This is a nice blend, and a real bargain. I am excited to try the "Country Gentleman". I'd recommend this blend for a try. It's better than the price would lead you to believe. Read Less

of a pleasant surprise. I really enjoyed this blend with a whiskey roast coffee which led me to try a bowl with a glass of Jack Daniel's and it could be my new favorite combination. The Jack eats the little bite that there is right out of the tobacco and the tobacco sweetens the jack and really sets off the full flavors of the charcoal mellowing process of the whiskey. I am a simple man when it comes to tobacco. Each blend sends me to the cabinet to find its liquid companion and if you're a fan of whiskey or bourbon, this is definitely a blend for you! Cheers! rounded taste, American Patriot has dethroned Frog Morton as my everyday smoke. My only (very minor) complaint is the pouch: the tobacco was a bit on the dry side. I look forward to Missouri Meerschaum offering their blends in bulk. In the meantime, a quick cellaring of the tobacco works just fine. Enjoy! Read Less
