Soft cocoas and burley bring to life a refreshingly delicious smoke. The room note is pleasant, and when I get back in my truck after I’ve been smoking this, the interior smells like cookies or brownies just out of the oven. for at least 45 minutes. Makes a BIG difference!! Also I noticed by taking ALL of the tobacco out of the pouch and mixing well in a dish or tray and jar for 6 months will bring back some fond memories. that most reviews comment on. A very nice ribbon cut and since I didn't dry it out, it took a few lights at first to get going, but then it settled in for a solid hour leaving a fine ash and little dottle. Very flavorfull with some spicy floral notes due to the oriental. I did not detect chocolate but half-way through the bowl the burley took on a slight creamy air which I would liken to almond milk. None of the flavor notes dominated this blend; instead as the smoke developed, a variety a subtle floral flavor notes of berry, black tea, and licorice would arise, disappear and reemerge again. A nice leisurely smoke which was sampled in a Breebia sailor with a Dublin chamber. Although no bite was detected, I believe this should be smoked slowly. Read Less

really no flavor at all, just smoke no distinguishing flavors. maybe it needs to age a little. Also the cut is very inconsistent, some large chunks, some very small ribbons. I'll try it in a few months or a year and see if I can get anything else from it otherwise I'm pitching it. Read Less

nd. But it's not boring. I enjoy the taste. I have plenty of top shelf tobaccos but I enjoy this when I just want a simple smoke that I don't have to think about. During a drive, or when I just want to smoke my pipe for 10 or 15 minutes and I just want something low key and easy. I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I do. I value this blend. Don't expect a luxury blend here. Don't expect a truckload of different flavors. Smoke it for a nice tobacco experience from a nicely balanced blend that has a nice body, isn't too light, isn't too strong, and tastes nice. The chocolate topping is delicate and barely there, adding a little extra something and complimenting the natural flavors, while the cavendish smooths things out nicely. strong as to sublimate the taste of other tobacco's. It has a light, pleasant spicyness to it (probably from the dark fired Kentucky leaf) that melds well with the rest of the blend. This seems to be made with some quality leaf and I'm liking this more as I progress through the bowl. I am happily impressed with this little pouch blend. My pouch was a little wet, I recommend drying it a while before smoking.
Edit: I write this only a few months after my original review and I am bumping my rating up to 5 stars, just because this has become my regular smoking blend and the more I smoke it the more I like it. I find that completely drying it out, improves it even more. Amphora Original is my new mainstay. Read Less

This pouch of Amphora Original was made with quality tobaccos. Not bad. Didn't note much of anything but burley. Not really any better or worse than a number of other OTC tobaccos. Not as good as Prince Albert.

I really like this tobacco and could smoke it day in and out but too much money for too little tobacco. This needs to be sold in bulk or 1 lb bags. 7.00+ for less than 2 ounces is not worth it.

me with this Amphora Brown Original,for first time,I disliked it but after finding a proper approach to it(smokin it on the dryer side)this is becoming one of my everydays favorite,its a pretty comlex mixutre,med streght blend and should be enjoyed slowly otherwise it turns harsh,Yet this may be a good starter blend to one who wanna introduce himself to non-aromatics,since this has only very light toppings in it, mostly I taste Burleys along with some of the spiciness from orientals supplemented with K-Dark Fired yet smoothed out with some light cavendish tobacco(the cavendish here ain't the black one) this Brown org is Not available at every tobacconist in Europe but happily you can have it right here at smokingpipes.com at quite a reasonable price, Read Less

d this afternoon. I was at a basketball game at West Point and knowing the parcel with the baccy would be arriving today, I couldn't wait to get home and start puffing away. I've never tried the Full Aroma so that will be a new experience for me, but if it is anything as good as the Original, I scored two 3 point shots! Mac Baren has done a wonderful job with Amphora Original. Very tasty with a nice chocolate note that doesn't get cloying, a mild to medium nic hit, and just the right amount of Oriental for a subtle spicy (and not sour) after taste. Delightful! A great smoke with some coffee or red wine. I occasionally get a chocolate taste but it only peeks out when I sip at the bowl. I dried this one out for an hour and it was delicious.

Natural flavors throughout. The Kentucky adds a bit of spice. The topping is very light almost unnoticeable. A very good natural tobacco experience. The pouch is even nice, it’s luxurious... seriously it should be a must try.

Listen to your Uncle Jeff. This is good stuff. Amphora was one of the best pipe tobaccos you could get at any grocery or drug store. Try the original blend. Take a huge drag and slowly whiff it out the nose.WOW!
