Product: Rattray's Buckingham 100g

This has that room note and flavor from times long gone. Imagine an old book store, the smell a lot of them have, it's not an unpleasant smell, but an inviting one. This is what Buckingham reminds me of. Nice flavor, pretty decent strength and a really nice room note. It seems and tastes like quality tobacco and has enough casing/topping to complement the tobacco nicely. The one thing I like about this is that it doesn't smoke like a lot of aromatics, meaning it has very little bite, and doesn't gunk up your pipe. The strength is more of a 1 or 2 - certainly not 3, though this is always subjective. The Hickory nut is light and odd tasting.. I wouldn't characterize it as 'Nutty'. I pickup more vanilla and very weak bourbon. Cornell & Diehl does bourbon exceedingly better than any brands I've smoked. As for the leaf; not bad and not great. The VA is bready sweet and the burley has the toasted oats nuance. There's too much Cavendish used. All in all, it's too light, lacks depth and flavor. Nicotine is 1.5 out of 5....Read More

Quality over Flavor

Interesting. It burns hotter than I expected. Flavor is lighter than expected. Tobacco is not sublimated by a sticky casing. Its quality can't be denied. The flavors come through in pleasant little waves of varying intensity, but never strong.

My everyday tobacco

As a new smoker it takes time to figure out what you like. Buckingham has become my everyday tobacco. Easy to smoke, doesn't bite, and nice strength. I do get the hickory and pick up the there is a slight sweetness from the vanilla. The cinnamon completely escapes me.

This is Peterson's Gold before Peterson's changed blenders. Nice nutty flavor with very minor vanilla undertone. Nice aromatic that is not heavy, sticky, or goopy. I prefer this to the newer version Peterson's Gold
